Privacy notice.
Last updated 28 October 2026
This is the personal website of Kunal Trehan. It's built to collect as little about you as possible. This notice explains what's collected, why, who it's shared with and your rights.
Who is responsible for your information
Kunal Trehan is responsible (the "controller") for information collected through this website. Contact: hello@kunaltrehan.com, 240 High Street, Beckenham BR3 1EN.
Black & Blanc Company Ltd (estate and letting agency) and Pillar Finance Limited (mortgages, insurance and protection) are separate companies. If your enquiry is about selling, letting, buying or a mortgage, it is passed to the right one, and from then on that business is responsible for your information under its own privacy notice.
What this site collects
- Valuation, appraisal and viewing requests. Your title, name, phone number, email (if you give it), the property address, details about the home, your preferred appointment time, how you found the site, and any reward or referral code. Used to arrange your appointment and reply to you.
- Questions, chat, referrals and sign-ups. What you type in the form, such as your name, contact details and message. For referrals, the details of the person you refer, which you should only send with their permission.
- The monthly free-sale draw. If you request an appraisal, you're entered into the draw. We use your details to run the draw and contact the winner, and publish only the winner's first name and area.
- Marketing. We only send local market updates and offers if you tick the box to ask for them. Run Club sign-ups are only used to run the club: session details, changes and your T-shirt. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Email. If you email hello@kunaltrehan.com, we receive your email address and message.
Why we're allowed to use it
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange appointments: the steps you've asked us to take before a possible contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
- To run the draw, the Good Neighbour Reward and referrals: to deliver the promotion you've entered.
- For marketing emails: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Cookies and similar technology
This site doesn't use advertising or analytics cookies, so there's no cookie banner. A few things are stored in your browser only to make the site work the way you've chosen:
- Preferences: light or dark mode, text size, contrast, animation settings, and whether you've already seen the opening sequence. These stay on your device and are never sent to us.
- Language: if you choose a language other than English, a small cookie ("googtrans") remembers your choice, and Google Translate is loaded. Google may set its own cookies when you use it.
Services this site uses
- Netlify hosts the site and stores form submissions, which are emailed to us. Netlify may process data outside the UK, under appropriate safeguards.
- Microsoft 365 provides our email.
- Ideal Postcodes receives the postcode you type when you use "Find address", to return the list of addresses.
- Google Fonts provides the typefaces, and receives your IP address when the fonts load.
- Google Translate, only if you choose another language.
- Images and data from other sites: property photos are loaded from Black & Blanc's image provider, one photo from Wikimedia Commons, and the Budget live page reads public announcements from GOV.UK. These services receive your IP address, as any website does when you load content from it.
- Read-aloud uses your own device's built-in voice. Nothing is sent to us.
Who we share it with
Only Black & Blanc or Pillar Finance, when your enquiry is for them, and the service providers above. We never sell your information.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't lead to any work are deleted within 2 years. Draw entries are kept for 12 months after the draw. If you become a client of Black & Blanc or Pillar Finance, their retention rules apply. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how it's used, or withdraw consent for marketing. Email hello@kunaltrehan.com and we'll respond within a month. If you're unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
