01  The weekly run

One run. Every Tuesday.

A proper run club for people who live and work locally. We run at lunchtime, at every pace, and nobody gets left behind. You'll be back at your desk by half past one.

Where
We meet outside Black & Blanc, 240 High Street, Beckenham BR3 1EN.
Distance
About 5k, with a shorter loop and a longer option.
Time
Around 45 minutes from start to finish, including a warm-up.
Cost
Free. Members get a club T-shirt.
After
Coffee for anyone who has time.
  1. Nobody runs alone

Every group has someone at the back, and the faster runners loop back. You finish with the people you started with.

  2. Every pace has a group

From walk-run to sub-five-minute kilometres. Tell us your times when you join and we'll put you in the right group.

  3. Coached, not shouted at

A proper warm-up, a plan for each session and sensible progress, whether you're aiming for a first 5k or a faster half.

  4. Back by 1:30

Built around a working lunch hour. Bring a change of clothes and you're done.

02 · Find your group

Four groups. One club.

  1. Group 01Walk–runNew to running

Run a minute, walk a minute, build from there. Perfect if you've never run, or haven't for years.

  2. Group 02Steady5k in 32 min or slower

Conversational pace. The group for chatting your way round and building confidence.

  3. Group 03Tempo5k in 26–32 min

A little quicker, for regular runners working towards a 10k or a first half marathon.

  4. Group 04Fast5k under 26 min

For racers and the race-curious. Still friendly, still waiting at the corner.

We set groups from the 5k and 10k times you give us, and move you up as you get faster.

04  Questions
Do I need to be fast?

Not at all. Every pace has a group, including walk-run.

I don't know my 5k or 10k time.

That's fine. Leave it blank or tell us roughly how you run, and we'll start you in a comfortable group.

Where do I change and leave my things?

Come ready to run. Let us know if you need somewhere to leave a bag and we'll sort it out on the day.

What if it rains?

We run. If the weather makes it unsafe, we'll email members by 11am on the day.

Does it cost anything?

No. The club is free, and members get a Black & Blanc Run Club T-shirt.

Who's behind it?

Kunal Trehan, co-founder of Black & Blanc and a Blackheath & Bromley Harrier, who took up running to stay fit and now runs these streets most mornings.
